Modplan Ltd has announced Brian Edwards as its new Operations Director. Heidi Sachs, Modplan’s Managing Director, said of the appointment, “Brian has extensive experience in manufacturing and operations as well as being familiar with the sector and the requirements of our customers. This strengthening of our team will allow us to continue to drive up efficiencies and control our costs and therefore protect our customers from the worst of rising raw material prices in what are challenging markets for all of us.”
Brian, who joined the company in April, said, “I was attracted to Modplan because of the vision of both David Burles and Heidi Sachs and the exciting plans the company has for expansion. Modplan is a forward-thinking and customer-focused business. I’m delighted to be part of the team.”
Brian has over 10 years’ experience in the window industry. His role will see him playing an active part in all areas of the business, with a particular focus on production and procurement. His previous experience has given him knowledge of frame manufacture, patio manufacture, roofline and colour, all key products in the Modplan portfolio. He also has considerable experience in devising logistical strategies and efficient work flow methods, all skills that will add further value to the Modplan team.
He will be working closely with Darren Smart, Modplan’s Production Manager, who, as well as continuing to oversee day to day production operations will now also be focusing on managing the company’s increasing export business.
