Secured by Design accredited range extended

Leading VEKA trade fabricator Modplan has just announced its Secured by Design accredited range has grown by over a third and the certification all updated to the latest PAS24:2016 security standard. Justin Williams, International Sales and Marketing Director, said: “We are delighted to be able to extend our Secured by Design product range. It opens up more high security opportunities for our customers.”

Secured by Design (SBD) is the national police crime prevention initiative. For the last 30 years it has prevented and reduced crime in the built environment by establishing a security standard to improve the physical security of new buildings and implementing proven crime prevention techniques into the immediate surrounding area. More than one million homes have been built to SBD standards with reductions in crime of up to 87%. SBD is managed by Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (PCPI), which runs a wide range of crime prevention initiatives and activities on behalf of the Police Service throughout the UK.

Modplan’s Secured by Design range now covers: VEKA Matrix 70 CH / 70 FS casement window, VEKA Matrix 70 CH / 70 FS tilt & turn window, VEKA Matrix 70 CH / 70 FS residential door, VEKA Matrix 70 CH / 70 FS French door, Modplan M58 casement, VEKA Halo System 10 casement window, Veka Halo Flush Sash window, VEKA Vertical Slider, VEKA Imagine Bifold and the two-pane version of the VEKA Imagine Patio.

Justin commented: “This extension of our Secured by Design range is a significant milestone for us and it’s a reflection of the hard work put in by our team. Certification is led by Lyn Jones and Dai Carnell of our Certification & Engineering Department but we also need to thank our Technical, Manufacturing Operations, Purchasing, Sales, Processing and IT departments who support them throughout the process. Also a thank you to our suppliers, particularly VEKA, VBH, ASSA ABLOY Yale, GT Products, ERA, Caldwell and Maco, who all play a vital role too. Finally thanks goes our UKAS Certification Body, Buildcheck who carry out our annual testing and surveillance audits, and to the support from our Secured by Design PCPI Development Officer”

The Modplan full range of registered PAS24:2016 products can be found on the Secured by Design website

As reflects a company committed to providing outstanding value to its customers, Modplan is already looking at extending its Secured by Design range even further. Justin concluded: “We will continue to add Secured by Design certification to more product lines over time to reflect the growing need for products that meet the stringent criteria to meet Document Q.”
